A free Kahoot alternative built for work meetings

Kahoot is the right tool for K-12 trivia. For a 50-person all-hands or a Friday team meeting, the free tier doesn't scale and the classroom framing fights the workplace context. This is the workplace-first version of the same five-minute trivia opener.

What Kahoot does well

Live multiple-choice trivia is Kahoot's home turf. The branding is everywhere, the gamification works on teenagers, and a teacher running a vocabulary review on Wednesday morning has the right tool. Kahoot earned that audience and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Where workplace teams hit the wall

Kahoot's free tier dropped from 20 players to 10. r/Teachers has multiple threads asking for a free alternative since the cap change. For a 30-person team meeting or a 50-person all-hands, that means a paid plan or a workaround, and the workaround usually involves splitting the room. The classroom UI pushes the same way: leaderboard sounds, podium animations, and language built for students rather than coworkers.

What we built differently

Browser-based, no signup for participants, no per-seat cost as the room grows. The facilitator opens a room and shares the link in chat. Forty people can join, sixty can join, the cost is the same. The UI is a quiet trivia screen rather than a classroom show, so it sits next to a Zoom or Teams call without competing with the meeting.

Common questions

Is this actually free?
Yes. The facilitator signs in with Google, participants click a link and type a name. No paid tier, no per-seat fee, no player cap.
What's the player cap?
There isn't one in the same shape Kahoot has. Practical comfort is around 50 in a single room because chat moves fast above that. For 100+ people we recommend breakouts of 10 to 15.
Can I import my Kahoot quizzes?
No. Quick Quiz uses a different question format and we don't have a Kahoot importer. The trade-off is that writing a 10-question quiz in Quick Quiz takes about five minutes.
Does it work in Microsoft Teams or Zoom?
Yes. The game runs in a browser tab next to your video call. There is no integration to install and no IT approval to wait on.
